They want brands to not just take a stance on social issues, but take demonstrable action. According to Cassandra Daily, Target is on a mission to “make education accessible to everyone”. They have backed this stance with a $200 million fund to pay for the tuition of part-time and full-time frontline workers. Walmart is making private label insulin to ensure it’s affordable for those who need it and Dollar General is bringing cost-effective healthcare products to underserved communities. Young generations believe brands can do more than the government, at this point, and applaud these efforts by becoming brand loyalists.⁠
